University of Mary Washington Scholarships for International Students

The University of Mary Washington is a public university in Fredericksburg, Virginia. It was founded in 1908 and ranked 19th in Regional Universities South, and is ranked #59 in National Universities. The University of Mary Washington, USA has made it known to give a tuition fee support award to international students that want to undertake a study programme at the institution in 2022. The scholarship ranges from $1000-$9000 and it is for undergraduate programs.

Eligibility

All international students can apply for this scholarship, and students can undertake an undergraduate programme taught at the University of Mary Washington.

To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:

  • The applicants must be full-time at the University of Mary Washington
  • Applicant must complete at least 12 credit hours each semester

Supporting Documents:

Students must gather and submit all documents and information required by the university as listed in the admission checklist. The students are requested to provide a copy official college transcript, one letter of recommendation, completed and signed the Secondary School Report, and another course-specific supporting documents.

In addition, the students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:

  • TOEFL IBT – 80
  • IELTS – 6.5

Scholarship Benefits

The University of Mary Washington will provide the selected students with renewable funding for up to 4 years of study. However, the University of Mary Washington will change or rescind merit scholarships in the event housing or residency status changes after awarding. The recipient qualifies to receive a scholarship for each of four academic years (Fall/Spring) of continuous undergraduate study at the University of Mary Washington provided that all of the following conditions are satisfied

Scholarship Duration and Reward

The scholarship may be used for pre-approved study abroad programs for current scholars who have maintained eligibility for the scholarship prior to their study abroad experience. Pre-approval requires that written permission from the Center for International Education be sent to the Office of Financial Aid.  Participation will be limited to one period of study, not to exceed two semesters.  Study abroad credit hours equivalent to full-time enrollment will be transferred back to the University of Mary Washington and used to consider scholarship eligibility for the subsequent year.

Attention!

Study abroad participants must return to the University of Mary Washington as full-time residence hall students to complete their degree requirements. The process for using merit scholarships for study abroad programs can be accessed here.

The scholarship may not be used by students participating in an internship in which the student resides off-campus.

Scholarships are determined based on the academic record provided with the application for admission. No additional scholarship application is necessary for merit consideration. Scholarship awards will be included in the official offer of admission to the university.  for a UG programme.
